Do you have minimums or max guest count?
No Food minimums. Bar Minimum is $2,500-$3,500 for wedding days. No guest count minimums. Grizzly Ranch can accommodate up to 200.
CAN WE BRING IN our own caterer?
YES! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE OUR IN-HOUSE CATERING.
PLEASE NOTE, a $500 fee will incur and ALL
BARTENDING + ALCOHOL WILL BE THROUGH
GRIZZLY RANCH.
DO YOU PROVIDE THE TABLE SETTINGS?
(GLASSWARE, CHINA FLATWARE, ETC.)

HAVE SOME GREAT RENTAL VENDORS FOR
WEDDINGS 40+. We encourage renting pieces that reflect you. We do provide the serveware needed for buffet & family style.

MINIMUMS; however, The $500 fee is waived with a $500 spend. we highly rec Gumba's pizza delivery for late night snacks!
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, kids meals?
Yes! Typically these are served plated to the individuals to ensure their comfort.
General Bar policies:
BAR PACKAGES MUST BE SERVED BY GRIZZLY RANCH. FULL
GUEST COUNT MUST BE COUNTED IN YOUR BAR PACKAGE, kids 12 & under are complimentary.
18% SERVICE CHARGE WILL BE ADDED. BAR WILL OPEN AFTER CEREMONY(unless a welcome drink is added) AND WILL CLOSE 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO RECEPTION CONCLUSION. IF YOU CHOOSE TO NOT DO A bar PACKAGE, THE TALLY BY CONSUMPTION MINIMUM IS $3,500 & BAR IS PRICED PER DRINK. A MINIMUM OF 2 BARTENDERS ARE REQUIRED FOR TALLY BY CONSUMPTION. LIQUOR MUST BE SERVED AS A COCKTAIL: NO SHOTS UNLESS PREVIOUSLY DISCUSSED WITH YOUR GR DIRECTOR. YOU ARE WELCOME TO BRING YOUR OWN WINE FOR A $20 PER BOTTLE CORKAGE FEE.

How does tally by consumption work?
If a prepaid amount is set for Tally by Consumption, Grizzly bartender will communicate with point of contact on status of the amount through the duration of the event. Client will have the option to increase the consumption dollar amount or turn the bar into a Cash Bar for the remainder of the event. Cash Bar: Drinks for purchase by attendees. a refund will be processed for the difference if prepaid amount is not reached and above the bar minimum. Drinks range between $8-$15 with an average consumption rate of 1 drink per person per hour for a 4-6 hour duration.
When can my vendors have access and my rentals be delivered/setup?
Since our event sites are separate from the golf course greens, we offer flexible delivery, pickup, setup & strike times.
Is there a curfew? How late can we go? Any noise restrictions?
while there is no curfew, Amplified music has a strict 10:00pm cut-off time. You can also take the gathering into the lake house for an additional $250 per hour + $150 per hour the bar stays open. Light, background music is allowed, decibels will be monitored. we are happy to light the firepits and encourage ordering some late night pizza through Gumbas!
How many guests can we invite?
Our max capacity for events is 200 at our outdoor sites. | The Lake House can hold up to 45 indoors and up to 150 for the lawn/patios.
Why do I need event insurance?
Event liability coverage may help protect you if you're found responsible for property damage or an injury caused during your event, and many venues require you to have it.
Any vendor restrictions? Can I bring in my own?
While we have an open vendor policy, all vendors need to provide proof of insurance. Your planner/coordinator will need to be approved by our wedding director. DJs are required to have a standard minimum of 2 systems (ceremony & cocktail hour/reception).
Is our initial retainer refundable?What’s the cancellation policy?
All payments are nonrefundable. If you choose to cancel your date, please request a cancellation form.
Anyother costs we should need to know about with Grizzly Ranch?
Grizzly Ranch charges an 18% service charge on food/beverage services and Plumas County standard sales tax of 7.25%. Bar minimum: $3,500/$2,500 and bartender fee is $250 each. No other fees are assessed unless you choose to add additonal hours, lodging, or any of our “enhancements” or menus which are additional charges.
Do you have restrooms on-site?
We have restroom facilities located under our Pro Shop for easy ceremony access and at our Lake House for cocktail + reception.

Can we do an engagement photoshoot on the property?
Absolutely! Please reach out to our team to schedule the best time without golf interference.
Can we get a group rate for golf for our guests?
Yes! We offer a discounted group rate for our wedding bookings & their guest list. Rates are guaranteed, but tee time availability is first come first served with our online reservations. We highly recommend booking tee times in advance.
Do you have Electric Vehicle chargers on-site?
We do not have EV chargers on site; however, there are charging stations located in town at 150 Commercial Street, Portola, CA, 96122, just 5 miles away.
Do you provide any decor, tables, chairs, etc.?
We encourage creative freedom, innovative designs and personal touches. With a strong list of preferred vendors including planners/designers, florists & rentals - Grizzly does not include rental items. However, we
do provide facilities, power, golf carts to vendors, guest chauffeuring as needed and our Lake House bar and restaurant furnishings.
How much should I budget to have my wedding at Grizzly Ranch?
All-in Average wedding investment for 2026 couples is $50,000+ using reliable vendors and zero DIY.
Can my dog be in the ceremony?
Yes! However, we encourage they depart during cocktail hour.
How do we book? What’s the payment structure? Can I put a date on hold?
We allow date holds for 7 days with a quote in hand. In order to book, we will send you a contract to review, sign & return with a 50% of the facility fees, non-refundable retainer. The second 50% of the facility fees is
due halfway between your booking date and wedding date. Final payment reflecting bar package and any food selections is due 30 days prior to your wedding date, and may change based on your final guest count, bar selection, and/or menu additions/enhancements.
All payments may be made via cash, check, or credit card. Credit card payments incur a processing fee.
All payments are non-refundable.
Can we do a sparkler exit?
As we are surrounded by nature, we do not allow sparkler exits. However, dancefloor cold sparklers are welcome. Fireworks are illegal in plumas county.
Can our guests swim at the Outpost pool?
No. The Outpost is for Grizzly Ranch community members & their guests.
What if it rains...or snows?
We highly recommend securing a tent - Camelot Party Rentals is a great resource. We do not provide a rain plan and this is a HUGE reason we require you to have a planner that can assist in making these decisions and manage these logistics while offering guidance on your budget. Clear umbrellas are a great solution for ceremony. seated capacity in the lake house is 50.
We are interested in a shuttle to bring our guests from Reno, can the property accommodate this?
Absolutely! We highly recommend Reno Tahoe Limousine or Amador Stage Lines.
What’s the closest hotel? Any hotel partnerships we should look into?
On-site cabins, or we highly recommend river pines and their shuttle service.
Is the property wheelchair accessible?
Most of our property is wheelchair accessible; however, there are some locations with uneven surfaces and gravel. We are HAPPY to provide golf cart chauffeuring for any guests needing assistance.
Will people be golfing on my wedding day? How does this work?
Guest arrival is at 4:00pm. Golfers will not interfere with the wedding sites. We have strategically configured
our golf schedules. Golf should respectively conclude around 5:00pm, but this is not guaranteed.
